Dreams and Clouds: Capsules of beauty in
Gardens by the Bay

The Cloud Forest, home to one of the world's tallest indoor waterfalls. Ascend the mountain peak to discover exotic flora from cloud forest habitats, 2,000 meters above sea level. As you stroll along the Cloud Walk, vibrant epiphytes cling to the mountain's sides, capturing water droplets from mist and fog. Appreciate the spectacular view from above while learning how epiphyte-laden branches help cloud forests capture water droplets from mist and fog. (PHOTO: Tiffany Lim Zi Yan)

As the last spectacle before the end, the Secret Garden boasts a sight to behold. Landscaped with a proud 7000 plants of more than 135 species and hybrids, visitors are given a lasting memory with their experience in the Gardens by the Bay, treading through a seemingly endless passage of aroma and greenery. This photo essay was done as part of an industry project with Singapore's Gardens By the Bay for my Feature Writing module. In this industry project, we are required to write articles and submit a photo essay about Gardens By The Bay's Flower Dome and research and horticulture.

I was in charge of doing up the photo essay with another teammate, and through this process I learnt how to choose the best objects and actions to capture so it will convey what was interesting about Gardens By The Bay. There were featured structures in the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest at the time, so part of our photo essay feature those shots of them.

We had to do research on those structures afterwards so we could include what they symbolize and why they are special in our photo captions.

I had a lot of fun travelling to Gardens By The Bay and walking around taking pictures. We got an "A" for this project.

Competitive and leisure darts.

This is a short feature video done for my Video Journalism module's graded assignment. It is about darts as a competitive and leisure sport.

In this assignment, I faced some challenges such as finding the suitable newsmakers to interview, as well as making sure they fit the storyline I had in mind.

There was a lot of planning involved too. I had a rather smooth filming experience because I planned out all the shots I needed prior to the filming date.
Afterwards, all I had to do was make sure I edited my shots and make sure there were no mistakes. I had a lot of fun doing this graded assignment, and I look forward to doing similar projects again.
